What happened?
Have you ever read the New Testament, and all of the amazing things that happened? We read about blind people seeing, lame people walking, deaf people hearing, and more than that... we read about thousands coming to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior daily! We read about how they truly loved one another and lived in community together... and how they shared everything in common. Is this what people in the world think about the church today? Do they know we are Christians by our love? When you go into church today do you feel the love and the power of God? Or do you just sing songs and watch a good show?
What happened? Have you ever stopped to ask that?

We are a group of people that have not only asked that question, but we believe that Jesus still wants to show his power today! We believe that it's still possible to love each other in community, and experience the power of Jesus daily. That's why we're going back to the drawing board. We're going back to the beginning of the Church and trying to simplify. We're asking what did the Church look like in the new testament... and simply trying to do that. This is why we meet in homes across our city.

KingsPorch is not made up of perfect people. In fact, we recognize that we're far from it... but we believe it when Romans 8:11 says, "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."
Our Gatherings:
Our core is based on Acts 2:42, "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

As a result, our gatherings are simple. We share a meal together around the table. We believe this is where true community is found and love for one another is built. After we eat, we sing together. We read the Word together. We believe in the priesthood of the believer (according to 1st Peter) and discuss what Holy Spirit reveals during the reading. Everyone can share... in fact, it's amazing what we learn from the kids! After we discuss the Word, we break into prayer groups and pray for one another. Everyone who walks through the door at a KingsPorch house is prayed for every time. Jesus said, "My house will be a house of prayer." We hold this value high!

We still believe in giving to the church, but Simple church means little to no overhead, so the money that is given is given away. Again, "They will know we are Christians by our Love!"
